Welcome to the realm of the blade, the rapier, and the bow. Fighting is
a core activity in the Society, and the biannual Crown Tournament determines
the next King and Queen of the Outlands through skill and success in the art
of Armored Combat.
For information on various forms of fighting, select your area of interest

Armored Combat
Also known as Heavy Fighting, this is the purview of the Knight Marshal and
includes all aspects of armored combat, including swords, shields, and
armor. As we strive to recreate the ideals of Honor and Chivalry in the
Middle Ages, we have agreed upon rules and standards to provide a fair playing
field and to ensure the safety of participants. If you are interested in
Armored Combat, here is a list of articles describing these important rules and
standards:

Society Marshal's webpage
- This the main page for Society information on Armored Combat.
- The
Society Heavy Weapons Combat Handbook (.pdf)

Rapier Combat
Also known as Light Fighting, this is the purview of the Rapier Marshal and
includes all aspects of the light blades such as rapier and epee. As with
heavy fighting, there are rules and standards that must be maintained to ensure
safety and fairness.

Society Marshal's rapier combat page

Archery
This is the art and skill with the Bow and is the purview of the Archery
Captain. The Society supports two types of archery: combat archery and
target archery. The Kingdom of the Outlands supports target archery and
the Barony of Dragonsspine has a very active group of archers. As with
other fighting disciplines, there are rules and guidelines to follow, and these
are very important for archers since safety is a primary concern. Unlike
the blunt heavy and light weapons, bows and arrows are still lethal weapons, so
there is little tolerance for participants who don't follow the rules.

Society Marshals's archery page

combat.
